Objectives: The objectives of Emergency Medicine Reports are to:

  • recognize specific conditions in patients presenting to the emergency department;
  • apply state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic techniques to patients with the particular medical problems discussed in the publication;
  • discuss the differential diagnosis of the particular medical problems discussed in the publication;
  • explain both the likely and rare complications that may be associated with the particular medical problems discussed in the publication.


Target Audience: This CME activity is intended for emergency physicians.

Accreditation:

AHC Media LLC is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation:

AHC Media LLC designates this educational activity for a maximum of 60 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Emergency Medicine Reports also is approved by the American College of Emergency Physicians for 60 hours of ACEP Category 1 credit.

Emergency Medicine Reports has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 39 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. AAFP accreditation begins 01/01/08. Term of approval is for one year from this date. Each issue is approved for 1.50 Prescribed credits. Credit may be claimed for 1 year from the date of each issue. The AAFP invites comments on any activity that has been approved for AAFP CME credit. Please forward your comments on the quality of this activity to cmecomment@aafp.org.

This CME activity is in effect for 36 months from the date of the publication.

Simply read the issues, answer the self-assessment questions at the end of each issue, compare your answers to the answer key, and review the source material relevant to any missed questions. Complete the evaluation form, which you'll receive at the end of each CME/CE semester, and mail it in. You'll receive your credit letter in the mail.
